Cruising on the Beautiful River Danube
For many years I had promised myself the pleasure of exploring the beautiful Danube river. It was a river I had known since a tiny child because of my parents’ love for the immortal waltz by Johann Strauss – The Blue Danube, along with all the other wonderful romantic waltzes for which he is justly famous. So when a significant birthday was to arrive we decided that this is what we would give ourselves!
Exclusive Opinion by Aline Dobbie: The Great Scottish India Connection
The Scottish diaspora throughout the world was significant but in India it was huge with every two out of three families having family members working and living in India, Burma and Ceylon.

That time of enlightened thinking that coincided with the activity and success of the East India Company led to young Scots of all walks of life seeking to assuage their aspirations and find serious occupations for themselves. The subcontinent of India proved their great opportunity.
The plight of the Indian tiger

We spent a Week in Delhi in February
KLR as we call Kumarakom Lake Resort sent a comfortable car to Cochin Airport and we arrived as the sun had set to a most enthusiastic warm welcome. Truly a home from home in a heritage villa with its own courtyard pool. We spent three weeks as indeed we had in 2014 and it provided the joy of comfort, beauty, tranquillity, good food, swimming in warm water and lovely service. We were happy people and I recommend the place strongly. The Yoga is also very popular and it is a beautifully wedding and special function venue. But we just swam, watched birds, read copiously, and interacted with friendly Staff and Management. ....and relaxed!
